Captain Bert's Fishin' Charters offers a full guide service that takes you fishing for the "Ultimate" Striped Bass on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Va. nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The lake reigns as Virginia's top freshwater Striped Bass fishery and holds a lake record of 49.4 lbs. for the Striped Bass. Capt. Daniel Berthiaume holds a U.S. Coast Guard License and is fully insured. Customers will fish off a 22 ft. deck boat that accommodates parties up to six. ALL equipment is provided along with an 8x10 digital picture of the day's catch and your fish will be filleted and packaged for you to take home. Capt. Bert fishes with live bait on down rods, planner boards and artificial lures throughout all seasons. As the summer months approach he also uses umbrella rigs when the stripers are schooled together.

We also offer waterfront lodging that is perfect for small families, couples, and fishermen to have a fun-filled or relaxing vacation! Our lakefront condo is newly purchased and comes with most everything provided. It's located on the top floor of Stripers Landing, a lakefront community of 80 condominiums on Smith Mountain Lake. The top floor provides you with an absolutely gorgeous view of the sunset every evening. From our living room and deck you'll overlook the Olympic-size swimming pool, the boat docks, and the beautiful, tranquil cove.
